Self-Guided tours of both Castles
Enjoy self-guided tours of Piatt Castles with new exhibits, hands-on activities and opportunities to interact with historical
interpreters. In the late spring, a new outdoor exhibit on 1790s Shawnee villages will be available to enhance your visit.Outdoor games are available on the lawns Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting. For information on

We are sorry, but it is not possible for us to hold our holiday program, "Traditions Over Time" in 2010.
We hope to decorate Mac-A-Cheek Castle and offer the program again in 2011.

Digging History
For All Ages Between 8 and 80
The entire family can be introduced to archaeology at workshops on July 5-8. Come for a one day crash course, or really get dirty and spend all week. The adventure runs from from 9:00-2:00 at the cost of $20 per day.

For Youth Entering Grades 3-8, Mon. - Fri., 9:00am-2:00pm
Explore the science, engineering, artistry and folk lore of towers as you investigate perspectives on towers from the quarry to the turret. Field trips and hands-on activities are integrated into this history-science camp.

Ghosts & Goblins: Literature to Scare and Delight
A Family Program for ages 5+, 4:30pm-6:00pm
Discover the fun of Halloween traditions and how imagination can be sparked by a good story. Enjoy Victorian autumn games, dramatic stories and scenes, a spooky cellar walk, and a bonfire. This year's program focuses on the writings of James Whitcomb Riley and Nathaniel Hawthorne.
The program begins promptly at 4:30pm at Mac-O-Chee Castle.
